84th Academy Awards® Nominations; Payne Up for Another OSCAR

Beverly Hills, CA – Nominations for the 84th Academy Awards were announced  by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak and 2010 Oscar® nominee Jennifer Lawrence.

Sherak and Lawrence, who was nominated for an Academy Award® for her lead performance in “Winter’s Bone,” announced the nominees in 10 of the 24 Award categories at a 5:38 a.m. PT live news conference attended by more than 400 international media representatives.

Second Generation Greek-American director, Alexander Payne, is nominated in three categories in the upcoming Oscars with “The Descendants” for best picture, director and adapted screenplay. Payne won an Oscar for screenwriting for his film “Sideways” in 2005.

Academy members from each of the branches vote to determine the nominees in their respective categories – actors nominate actors, film editors nominate film editors, etc. In the Animated Feature Film and Foreign Language Film categories, nominations are selected by vote of multi-branch screening committees. All voting members are eligible to select the Best Picture nominees.

Nominations ballots were mailed to the 5,783 voting members in late December and were returned directly to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the international accounting firm, for tabulation.

Official screenings of all motion pictures with one or more nominations will begin for members this weekend at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Screenings also will be held at the Academy’s Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood and in London, New York and the San Francisco Bay Area.

All active and life members of the Academy are eligible to select the winners in all categories, although in five of them – Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject and Foreign Language Film – members can vote only if they have seen all of the nominated films in those categories.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2011 will be presented on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide.

Μέχρι τώρα διαβάζοντας μερικά άρθρα μου θα έχετε ψιλιαστεί πιστεύω ότι είμαι λίγο cinefreak!Και σαν σωστός cinefreak η βραδιά των Oscar είναι σαν  δεύτερα Χριστούγεννα για μένα.Σήμερα είχαμε τις ανακοινώσεις των υποψηφιοτήτων..υποψηφιότητες που σκότωσαν πολλά σενάρια και φούντωσαν ακόμα περισσότερα!!Ας ξεκινήσουμε λοιπόν ανα κατηγορίες…

Καλύτερη τανία

War Horse:Αναμενόμενη αλλά όχι και τόσο καλοδεχούμενη υποψηφιότητα καθώς μιλάμε για μία υπερβολικά αδιάφορη ταινία που χωρίς το όνομα του Spielberg στην σκηνοθεσία της δεν θα την δεχόντουσαν ούτε στο φεστιβάλ Θεσσαλονίκης….

The Artist: Η ταινία φαβορί στα πολύ υψηλού επιπέδου φετινά Oscars και όχι άδικα.Η πρωτοτυπία μέσα απ’την κλασσικό στο καλύτερο πάντρεμα τους.

Moneyball: Ταινία ορισμός και φόρος τιμής των συναισθημάτων που μόνο ο αθλητισμός μπορεί να προκαλέσει χωρίς δείχνει ούτε ένα αθλητικό πλάνο…και μόνο για αυτό θα άξιζε την υποψηφιότητα αλλά πιστέψτε με την αξίζει και για πολλά άλλα.

The Descendants: Πάρε τον θεσμό της αγίας αμερικάνικης οικογένειας…τσαλάκωσε τον… και χωρίς να το έχεις καταλάβει θα βρεθείς να περπατάς σε κόκκινα χαλιά.O Alexander Payne κατάφερε και την τσαλάκωσε με μοναδικό τρόπο και άξια βρίσκεται εδώ.

The Tree of Life: η ταινία που επειδή βγήκε νωρίς μέσα στο 2011 όταν έφτασαν οι διάφορες απονομές βραβείων φαίνεται να ξεχάστηκε από όλους.Τα Oscars είναι ελέφαντας όμως και δεν ξεχνάνε τίποτα…στην περίπτωση του Tree of Life χαιρόμαστε για αυτό.

Midnight in Paris:Woody Allen…χρειάζεται να γράψω και άλλα?

The Help: Μία πολύ ωραία παρουσίαση ενός τεράστιου θέματος της ταραχώδους εποχής των ’60s μέσα από μία πολύ γυναικεία οπτική που η άνεση για την σεξουαλικότητα μου δεν με εμπόδισε να την εκτιμήσω και να την απολαύσω!!

Hugo: Ένα ορφανό παιδάκι καταλήγει στον δρόμο και βλέπουμε τις τρισδιάστατες περιπέτειες του μέσα σε ένα σταθμό τρένων.Είπε κανείς Oliver Twist?Σε πρόλαβε ο Roman Martin μου….

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close: Ε μόλις 10 χρόνια πέρασαν από τότε(9/11)  να μην κάνουμε καμιά ταινία ακόμα…εδώ γυρίζουμε για τον ψυχρό πόλεμο που έχουν περάσει 20 χρόνια!!Παρόλο τον θαυμασμό που έχω για τον Tom Hanks δεν είναι για Oscar η ταινία…

Πρώτος ανδρικός ρόλος

Demian Bichir στο “A Better Life”: Βαριά ερμηνεία και υποψηφιότητα γροθιά στο στομάχι του maistreamισμου που αγκαλιάζει σφιχτά συνήθως τα Oscar.Τεράστια επιτυχία που όμως δεν μπορεί να αντιμετωπιστεί με την συμπάθεια που της αξίζει λόγω της κατάφωρης αδικίας του Fassbender.

George Clooney στο “The Descendants”: Δεν τον πάω μία για να είμαι ειλικρινής αλλά η ερμηνεία του εδώ ήταν πολύ καλή,για άλλες χρονιές θα το δεχόμουνα,αλλά φέτος το να μείνει έξω ο Gosling που έκανε δύο αριστουργηματικές ερμηνείες σε Drive και Ides of March όπως και η τρομερά μεγαλειώδης ερμηνεία καριέρας του Fassbender sto Shame(η σκέψη τι άλλο πρέπει να κάνω για να το πάρω θα πρέπει να είναι δίκαια καρφωμένη στο μυαλό του…όπως είναι και στο δικό μας) το βρίσκω αν όχι σκανδαλώδες(αυτό γίνεται παρακάτω) τουλάχιστον άδικο.

Jean Dujardin στο “The Artist”: Το να πας στα Oscar και να είσαι το Νο1 φαβορί μη όντας Βρετανοαμερικάνος θέλει αρχίδια. Να μαζέψεις ότι βραβείο παίζει στον δρόμο σου θέλει ακόμα μεγαλύτερα αρχίδια…Αλλά το να κάνεις όλα αυτά χωρίς να έχεις πει κυριολεκτικά κουβέντα θέλει τεράστια αρχίδια…ο Γάλλος τα έχει και ας μην τα έδειξε κυριολεκτικά όπως ο Fassbender!

Gary Oldman στο “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”: Ηθοποιός προσωπική αδυναμία μου που για ακόμα μία φορά ζωγράφισε με την ερμηνεία του.Αγνοήθηκε από τα διάφορα προ-οσκαρικα πανηγυράκια αλλά έχω ένα προαίσθημα/ελπίδα ότι τα Bafta θα τον δικαιώσουν..παίζει και εντός έδρας εκεί! Αν δεν ήταν ο Γάλλος από μένα θα είχε το ελεύθερο να το πάρει σπίτι του.

Brad Pitt στο “Moneyball”: ¨Έχει βελτιωθεί πάρα πολύ αλλά έχει δρόμο ακόμα…ειδικά σε μια χρονιά σαν την φετινή η υποψηφιότητα είναι τεράστιο παράσημο.

Πρώτος γυναικείος ρόλος

Glenn Close στο “Albert Nobbs”: Σε μια χρονιά με τόσες απίστευτες γυναικείες ερμηνείες είναι παράσημο να πάρει την υποψηφιότητα αλλά και ατυχία μεγάλη για το timing…οσκαρική ερμηνεία!

Rooney Mara στο “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”: Ερμηνεία καριέρας και μια μεταμόρφωση που μόνο κάτω από τις οδηγίες του Fincher μπορεί να γίνει.

Viola Davis στο “The Help”: Άτυχη που έπεσε πάνω στην Meryl…σε μια φυσιολογική σεζόν θα το είχε στην τσέπη της.

Meryl Streep στο “The Iron Lady”: Η ταινία φτιάχτηκε μόνο και μόνο για να πάρει η Meryl Streep ακόμα ένα Oscar…ε θα τον πετύχει τον σκοπό της λοιπόν και όχι άδικα.Τεράστια επιτυχία της το ότι κατάφερε και είναι το ακλόνητο φαβορί σε μια χρονιά που θα άξιζαν όχι απλά μια υποψηφιότητα αλλά και το αγαλματάκι το ίδιο ερμηνείες που δεν πήραν ούτε φήμη για υποψηφιότητα όπως αυτή της Kirsten Dunst.

Michelle Williams στο “My Week with Marilyn”: Πολύ καλή ερμηνεία…σε χρονιές που πήρανε Oscar ως και η Sandra Bullock και η Paltrow θα άξιζε και να το πάρει ακόμα…αλλά φέτος είναι σκάνδαλο το ότι πήρε την υποψηφιότητα από την ερμηνεία της χρονιάς για μένα…Tilda συγγνώμη εκ μέρους τους…σε οποιαδήποτε άλλη χρονιά θα στο έδιναν πριν πας!

Καλύτερη σκηνοθεσία

Michel Hazanivicus για το “The Artist”: Μαγικός ο Γάλλος που ελπίζω με το Oscar που θα πάρει (γιατί θα το πάρει αν όχι και το καλύτερης ταινίας τουλάχιστον ένα από τα δύο) να του δοθούν λεφτά να γυρίζει ταινίες…είναι το κέρδος της χρονιάς για την τέχνη.

Alexander Payne για το “The Descendants”:Δίνει την μάχη του μαζί με τον Mallick είναι το τείχος κατά της γαλλικής εισβολής.

Martin Scorsese για το “Hugo”: Δεν στο είχανε δώσει τόσα φορές ρε Martin που το άξιζες και με τα κέρατα να το πάρεις…άρα φέτος εσύ ειδικά ξέρεις καλύτερα απ’τον καθένα ότι θα είναι αδικία να το πάρεις από κάποιον καλύτερο.

Woody Allen για το “Midnight in Paris”: Δεν ήταν για υποψηφιότητα στην φετινή χρονιά…και οι δύο Δανοί και ο Fincher και ο Steve McQueen για το πάρα πολύ δυνατό Shame θα το άξιζαν περισσότερο. Θα πάρει του σεναρίου αλλά και η υποψηφιότητα αυτή μετράει…όχι ότι τον νοιάζει βέβαια γιατί εκείνη την ώρα που θα λένε το όνομα του αυτός θα παίζει το αγαπημένο του κλαρινέτο σε κάποιο μαγαζάκι της Νέας Υόρκης…

Terrence Malick για το “The Tree of Life”: Αν δεν γινόταν φέτος η Γαλλική εισβολή θα άξιζε να το πάρει.

Προκλητική αδιαφορία και σνομπισμό για τους Δανούς Nicolas Winding Refn του Drive και τον ιδιόρρυθμο Lars von Trier με το Melancholia που τον έκαψαν οι δηλώσεις του στις Κάννες…πολύ δυνατή ταινία που επίσης έπεσε σε λάθος χρονιά και το Dangerous Method του Cronenberg

David Fincher να ξέρεις ότι εμείς που σε γουστάρουμε πραγματικά χαιρόμαστε που δεν πήρες υποψηφιότητα…γιατί ξέρουμε ότι είσαι πειρατής…και δεν πάει σε ένα πειρατή να καταταχθεί στο ναυτικό!

Καλύτερο πρωτότυπο σενάριο

The Artist: Πρωτότυπο δεν το λες όταν έχεις δει το “Ένα αστέρι γεννιέται” αλλά εντάξει.

Bridesmaids: Η κωμωδία της χρονιάς…αλλά κωμωδία…

Midnight in Paris: Αφού το ξέρετε ότι δεν θα έρθει δώστε το από τώρα να τελειώνουμε…

Margin Call: Υποτιμημένη ταινία από πλευράς προβολής και PR…η υποψηφιότητα της έστω και εδώ είναι μια μικρή αποζημίωση.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy:Το κρυφό αουτσάιντερ…ένα τρομερό βιβλίο που μεταφέρθηκε αριστοτεχνικά με ένα καταπληκτικό cast πάνω του.

Το δεύτερο αντρικό το έχει στο τσεπάκι του ο Christopher Plummer με τον Kenneth Branagh να παίζει τον ρόλο του δεύτερου φαβορί αλλά με μεγάλη απόσταση…αουτσάιντερ που χαίρεται την συμμετοχή που αξίζει κατά 100% ο Nick Nolte.

Το δεύτερο γυναικείο θα το πάρει η Octavia Spencer με την συμπρωταγωνίστρια της Chastain να είναι δεύτερο φαβορί σε τεράστια απόσταση παρέα με την εκφραστικότατη γαλλίδo-αργεντίνα Bejo.

Αυτά λοιπόν…καλές προβολές να έχετε μέχρι την βραδιά της 26ης Φεβρουαρίου…
