FALL OF COMMUNISM
The 20th anniversary of the fall of communism deserves to be commemorated not only by the citizens of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe who were victims of the communist regime, but in the whole world. It should not be a commemoration of the past only. Even though I, Vaclav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic, don't expect the old communism to come back, I see other collectivistic and dirigistic deviations waiting for their chance. They may be called differently, they may be softer and less brutal, but their structural characteristics look suspiciously similar. They should not be underestimated even though our experience tells us that it is almost inevitable.
Men always fight old battles. The generation of my parents did not see the real danger of communism the night before the communist putsch in Czechoslovakia in February 1948. I remember, as a six-year-old child, being in the mountains with my parents those days. We were skiing and everyone looked quite happy and careless. We are also careless now that pretty soon on December 1, the Fourth Reich starts! Basil Venitis considers the European Union null and void confederation, because Europeans did not vote for any constitutional treaty! The unelected antivenitist Eurokleptocrats pulled off the biggest powergrab in history by imposing a camouflaged constitution, bypassing all nonos. The Nazi dream for Europe was finally fullfilled - ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuehrer - one people, one empire, one leader.
Venitis points out the Lisbon Treaty is Eurokleptocracy's Pyrrhic victory. It created a federation, a Fourth Reich, without a popular foundation. EU lacks legitimacy among Europeans. Eurokleptocrats created a situation where the citizens of slave States live their lives with a resigned feeling that the EU project is not their own. Since EU is illegal, VAT is also illegal! No vote, no VAT, it's as simple as that! Europeans have the right to refuse paying VAT! Allons enfants de la Patrie!
Venitis asserts the smaller a State, the better it is. City-State is the best size of State. Famous City-States include cities of ancient Greece(Athens, Sparta, Thebes, Corinth), Phoenicia(Arados, Tyre, Sidon), Mesopotamia(Babylon, Ur), Renaissance Northern Italy(Florence, Genoa, Siena, Venice), Mesoamerica(Chichen Itza, El Mirador), Monaco, Singapore, and Vatican. It's high time to grant independence to all cities of Europe, liberating them from the heavy yoke of Fourth Reich and country governments! Allons enfants de les cites!
Eurokleptocracy thrives on waste, fraud, and abuse(WFA), and Europeans who don't know what they're talking about. European Union(EU), aka Fourth Reich, an illegal unvoted confederation, condones the antivenitist European Commission(EC), aka Eldorado of Corruption, the European Parliament(EP), aka Eldorado of Prostitutes, Pasok and Nea Democratia, the two most corrupt political parties on Earth. No Graecokleptocrat has ever gone to jail! Basil Venitis asserts that impunity of Graecokleptocrats is the most freakish justice in the world!
The end of communism shouldn't be interpreted as a final and comfortable victory. We should stay on guard. To learn from the past is, in this respect, extremely important. As we all know, communism collapsed just 20 years ago. The main cause behind its collapse in Central and Eastern Europe and in Russia were the internal problems of the regime itself. At the end of the 1980's, communism was already weak, soft, old and emptied of all meaning to exist much longer. And there was also almost no one seriously defending it. Its weaknesses and failures were visible for everyone who wanted to see them.
Different issue is that communism was not ready to voluntarily declare itself dead. It was necessary to do something. Many people in the West want to hear how much they helped us to bring communism to an end. The only real help from the outside that accelerated the final collapse of communism came from Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher who understood that words alone are not enough to bring the end of this evil empire. They were right. The Helsinki process that has long been a source of hope for many people in Europe was toothless and naive to bring any real results. The belief that the Cold War division of Europe could be overcome by a patient and friendly dialog with the Soviet Union, a morally and intellectually bankrupt regime, was totally misleading. That was my feeling then, that is my conviction now as well.
Ronald Reagan was aware of that. He understood that Soviet system and Soviet expansionism had to be resisted. His tough rhetoric vis-a-vis the Soviet Union, his massive military build-up that the Russians could not afford to keep up with, and his Strategic Defense Initiative were all part of a successful strategy to defeat communism and win the Cold War. Ronald Reagan succeeded in this effort. By the time he left office, the Soviet Union was already in the process of dissolution.
The last days of communism differed in each of the communist countries. In these moments, new leaders were born – either from the circles of the local dissidents or, like in the Polish Solidarnosc, from a movement that already had the support of the public and therefore also the necessary strength. One of such personalities was no doubt Vaclav Havel whose significant contribution can be found in the nonviolent, velvet form of the anticommunist revolution in Czechoslovakia. The events of 1989 prove that personal commitment, civic engagement and individual courage did make things move.
The fall of the Berlin Wall we commemorate was one of the crucial events. Only now, twenty years later, I dare say that it was a small surprise even for us who were nearby. East Germany was really extraordinarily closed. People like me used to have many personal and professional friends in almost all former communist countries, but none in East Germany. I spoke German, but I had no Germans among my Christmas cards addressees. We could not visit West Germany but were allowed to travel to East Germany without any restraint. We did not, however, make contact with the East Germans and they did not make contact with us either. Their country was special in another aspect – East Germans had their older brother, the West Germans, who were eventually ready to cover the transformation costs. No other country had anything similar to that. Nevertheless, the events of November 1989 proved that the same spirit – as in the other communist countries – existed there also.
We still do not know whether the fall of communism happened yesterday or whether it is already a historic (if not prehistoric) event. On the one hand, various moments of those days are still vividly before my eyes, on the other, almost half of the people in my country did not experience communism at all or were too young to understand it.
Our life is incomparably different now. And much better in many respects. One thing is, however, to compare our current life with the past, another is to compare it with our expectations. In November 1989, I believed that the world in 2009 would be more free than it is now. To my great regret, I see more of government intervention into my life and less of freedom than I expected. We need venitism now! If not now, when?
Venitism is a new libertarian paradigm, introduced by Basil Venitis, which integrates politics, economics, ethics, and spirituality. Venitists follow the Venitis Laws:
Venitis Law of Black Hole: Taxation is armed robbery that feeds the black hole of political corruption; it's the perfect index of corruption and tyranny. Only evil governments tax citizens and companies.
Venitis Law of Constitution: The only purpose of a constitution is to protect citizens from government abuse. Reform treaties of a confederation not voted by the citizens are null and void.
Venitis Law of Democracy: Every democracy is eventually hijacked by rabblerousers, pullpeddlers, clans of kleptocrats, bumptious bugaboos, busybodies, butterbabies, nabobs of nepotism, cranks of cronyism, pusillanimous pussyfooters, riffraffs of rascals, socialist sophists, and machiavellian mafiosi. Democracy tends to kleptocracy. Venitism should replace democracy.
Venitis Law of Depression: Only governments can cause economic depressions and funny money. Elimination of kleptocracy and VAT, lower tax rates, and a reduction in the burden of government are the only way to boost growth.
Venitis Law of Education: There is no direct relationship between education and schooling. You might be schooled but uneducated, and you might be educated but unschooled. Schools are concentration camps for the drones of society. Unschooling is much better than schooling. Internet is the best source of knowledge and information, replacing schools, libraries, media, parliaments, and postoffice.
Venitis Law of Environment: The best way to save the environment is vasectomy. Deadly viruses are Gaia's antibiotics against the cancer of overpopulation.
Venitis Law of Equality: Death is the only equalizer. Egalitarianism brings death to society, tansforming citizens to zombies.
Venitis Law of Evolution: The ultimate phase of human evolution is the complete domination of soul.
Venitis Law of Faith: Faith is retarded thinking that keeps you away from God. You have to become faithless, in order to start your journey to God! You have to discover God your own way without intermediaries. God's truth should replace faith.
Venitis Law of Government: The only purpose of government is to protect citizens from criminals. Public services, central banks, and fiat money should be abolished.
Venitis Law of Heroism: Entrepreneurs, innovators, and heretics are the real heroes.
Venitis Law of Insurance: Citizens with proper individual retirement accounts and health savings accounts should be allowed to opt out of Social Insurance.
Venitis Law of Intervention: Any government intervention deteriorates an existing trend. Laissez-faire is the only progressive policy.
Venitis Law of Legislature: Parliaments should be abolished, because they continuously create laws that enslave citizens, constraint economic activity, loot producers, reward drones, and encourage political corruption.
Venitis Law of Misery: Throwing money to misery brings more misery. Fighting wild leverage with more leverage is homeopathic repression of reality. A deluge of fiat money brings financial plague and haemorrhage of economy. Real money is tied up to precious metals and strategic metals.
Venitis Law of Patriotism: Patriotism is addiction to local hysteria.
Venitis Law of Property: Governments should not own or regulate any property, including waves. The first individual who improves or cultivates any unclaimed property is entitled to that property. Governments cannot own, allocate, regulate, or manipulate frequency fields and media. Eminent domain is null and void.
Venitis Law of Religion: Religion is spiritual slavery. Church is the business of religion. Religious monopoly turns bishops to ayatollahs, and churches to Sodom and Gomor. Spirituality and metaphysics should replace religion.
Venitis Law of Rule: Anarchy is the rule of gangs, infinitesimal government is the rule of law, and big government is the rule of the cancer of socialism.
Venitis Law of Selfownership: You own your body and your soul, and nobody should dictate what you take in and what you take out. Speech, education, heresy, habeas corpus, military service, mating, healthcare, abortion, cloning, drugs, guns, and euthanasia should be personal choices.
Venitis Law of Style: Your soul needs to resonate with mighty words and unique acts that express your style and destiny. Your government cannot dictate your language, your words, and your culture. Resonate now and sing your song!
Venitis Law of System: The most efficient political system is venitism, where everything is private, there are no taxes at all, there is no parliament, and a powerless infinitesimal government is chosen and supported not by hoi polloi, but by the most generous benefactors.
Venitis Square Law: Political corruption is proportional to the square of the size of the government.
Venitis Tax Law: For each percent of lower taxes, the economy grows by at least four percent more. Smart stimulus is to cut taxes. Stupidus stimulus is to increase spending, which stimulates the cancer of socialism!
