Dublin II Regulation and Greece‏

It was PASOK that signed the Dublin convention on 1/9/09 and the Dublin Regulation II which was adopted in 2003. On both occasions PASOK was in Government.

ND has done nothing in 5.5 years and has allowed the situation to fester. Omonia and its surroundings once used to be Greek.

As it stands the Dublin II Regulation obliges illegal immigrants to lodge their asylum appeals in the first EU country they enter usually Greece, Italy or Spain. Greece is on the front lines of illegal immigration so it’s not fair that our Northern partners are critical of Greece as boatloads of illegal immigrants are not landing in Dublin or Hamburg on a daily basis. This treaty needs to be scrapped and re worked and Turkey needs to be held accountable. Turkey is deliberately trying to islamicize Greece at a cost to the Greek tax payer and put its case for a Mosque in central Athens.

In my personal opinion all illegal’s should be boarded on C130 Military transport planes (which Greece has) and sent back to their country of origin. The other option is open the borders and let them go anywhere else in Europe until this ridiculous treaty which works against Greece is scrapped.
